Learn Tagalog(Filipino) the easy way!
In the Philippines, people say “kumusta” or “kumusta po kayo?” (both standard versions) to greet or receive someone warmly. You may also use this when speaking to someone you’ve met for the first time. When talking to older people, we add the word “po” as a form of respect.
It is still same thing when you hear the word “kamusta” (informal). But the correct spelling is “kumusta” which comes from the Spanish phrase “como estas”.
